Dr.
Rutilio Martínez is the Director of the Northern
Colorado Office of CG AMERICAS (Consulting Group of the
Americas, LLC), an international consulting firm that advises
government agencies and Fortune 1000 companies in Canada,
Mexico and the United States with offices in Denver, Colorado
and Mexico city, Mexico. Dr. Martínez manages CG
AMERICAS Northern Colorado office serving Fort Collins,
Greeley, and Loveland.
Dr.
Martínez has more than 15 years experience as an
international economist and trade consultant. He specializes
in export financing assistance, strategies for lowering
country and credit risk, macroeconomic analysis, venture
capital placement, financing presentations, minimization
of customs duties, guidance on general entry requirements/tariff
classifications/duty rates, NAFTA Certificates of origin,
and duty drawback. He has served as a macroeconomic consultant
for the Mexican Subsidiary of the Swiss Corporation Ciba
Geigy as well as a consultant in econometrics / macroeconomics
for the Central Banks of the Dominican Republic, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
He
is an Assistant Professor at the Kenneth W. Monfort College
of Business. As Director of the College's NAFTA Business
Center (1994 - 2000), Dr. Martínez served as primary
cultural consultant for executives relocating to Mexico
from Hewlett Packard, Navistar Financial, and Southwestern
Bell Corporation. He has led agricultural trade missions
to Mexico to promote Colorado farm products. During the
last three years, Dr. Martínez was invited to Germany
to teach a class on "How to do Business in Latin America"
at the Fachhochschule (University of Applied Science) in
Furtwangen, Germany.
Before
returning to Colorado, He served as an Assistant Professor
of Economics at the Universidad de las Américas-Puebla
between 1986 and 1992. Dr. Martínez also served as
an Assistant to the Director of the Division of Social Sciences
at the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), Cuidad de
México Campus from 1980 to 1982.
A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Dr. Martínez received
his Ph.D. degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University
in 1992. He received an M.A. degree in Economics from Colorado
State University (CSU) in 1982. Dr. Martínez received
his B.A. degree in Business Administration from the Universidad
Iberoamericana in 1976.
